Simplifying technology
for small businesses.
Automation, custom web applications, and operational software — built so the people running the business can focus on the business, not the tooling.
What we do
Tech Efficient LLC helps small businesses streamline operations through automation, web applications, and the operational software that holds the day-to-day together. The practice started out building mobile apps; over time, the work that mattered most was replacing manual workflows and the spreadsheet-glue that kept growing teams from scaling.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every engagement starts with understanding what the business actually does — then designing software that's simple, low-maintenance, and free of unnecessary tech-speak. The goal is always to leave behind a system the team can own.
Technology should work for you, not the other way around.
Eliminate bottlenecks. Replace duct-taped workflows with software that runs itself. Give business owners back the hours they're spending on their tools instead of their craft.
How an engagement actually goes
Three steps, in this order. No deck, no pitch, no big-bang launch at the end.
Understand your needs
I start by getting to know your business and identifying the tasks that slow you down or hinder growth — the manual workflows, the spreadsheets that have outgrown themselves, the data that lives in three different places.
Design simple, effective solutions
From there I'll develop the right tools, apps, or systems to automate and streamline those processes. Boring tech, clear naming, opinionated structure — built so your team can own it.
Implement & support
I'll set everything up and make sure it runs smoothly in the real world, not just on a demo. When you need help down the line, I'm here for it — most of my clients have been with me for years.
Joey Harrington — Lead Consultant & Solutions Architect
I started out as a published researcher in structural engineering before following the part of the work I actually loved — programming — into Honeywell's cybersecurity group. With a Bachelor's in Computer Science, I spent the next several years building mobile apps and web platforms before founding Tech Efficient LLC.
Today my focus is helping small businesses automate processes and scale efficiently — without the tech headaches. Whether it's automating a time-consuming workflow, designing an intuitive web application, or tightening up a company's network and infrastructure, every solution I build is meant to be efficient, easy to manage, secure, and tailored to the client.
One builder — and a network when you need one.
Most engagements I run end-to-end myself. When a project genuinely calls for skills outside mine — design, specialty integrations, additional engineering capacity — I bring in trusted consultants I've worked with before. You get the right specialist for the work, without paying for an agency to scaffold around it.
Continuously sharpening the axe
Years of investment in industry credentials — the ones that actually matter for the work I do.

Process design & optimization framework
Stack, briefly
Boring, durable, well-understood. The interesting bit is your business — the tech is just how we get there.
Backend
PHP, Python, Node — whichever fits the existing system. PostgreSQL and MySQL on the database side.
Frontend
Plain HTML/CSS/JS for small things; React when it earns its complexity. No framework worship.
Mobile
iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) for native; React Native or PWA when one codebase makes sense.
Infrastructure
Linux on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) or cloud (AWS / GoDaddy). Apache or nginx, Let's Encrypt, scripted deployments, monitored backups.
Integrations
CRMs, payment processors, data-enrichment providers, mobile backends, comms platforms — most of the SaaS tools small businesses already use.
Data
ETL pipelines, public-records aggregation, normalization, deduping. Python + the right libraries.
Let's build something better.
If you're ready to simplify your business processes and take the stress out of technology, I'd love to help. Tell me what you're working on — I'll reply within a day.
